...This is quite possibly the best piece of fanart I've ever done.

A couple of people commented on my other pic, Skritchies, that they'd like to see something with dog-form Sesshoumaru and Rin. At first I was going to do something kinda like the last one, rolling around having fun, but this happened instead, and I am so glad it did. This pic conveys for me all of his feelings for Rin. I see their relationship as father/daughter, not romantic, so for me I see this as a paternal love. However, you may interpret this as you wish. (I won't rain on your parade, Sess/Rin fans ). The message in this is simply that he loves her and cares for her; the rest is up to you.

It is like this pic wanted me to draw it. I decided this time that I wanted to try drawing a more realistic version of his true form, so I got out a couple of anatomy references, and before I knew it, I'd whipped out the sketch all in one day, and it was perfect in one go, and that just doesn't happen with me. Ever. And then the coloring all came together in about one day, and that NEVER happens with me. I found myself trying a new coloring style, and I found myself actually paying attention to things like lighting, and mood. It was intentionally left 'sketchy' looking because I liked the effect. I'm still not 100% happy with all of the details--I may give his eyes/markings another go, as I feel they don't match the tone of the pic perfectly--but overall I'm really damn happy. It's not perfect, but for me this is really darn good. I was totally channeling my muse the whole time and it was great fun. Anyway, hope you enjoy viewing it as much as I enjoyed making it.
